Custom
Workshops
Kent Beck’s custom workshops in southern Oregon are for
groups wanting to:
- Jump start software process improvement
- Rescue failing projects
- Share experiences across teams in
large organizations
Each workshop is designed and executed in close
cooperation
with the client to achieve the maximum progress in the time available.
Mr. Beck encourages creative thinking, productive
conflict,
and a bias to action following the workshop using a variety of
facilitation
techniques:
- Mind mapping
- Open Space
- Team-building exercises
- Improvisational theater
Southern Oregon
is a
beautiful spot for holding a workshop. A variety of recreational
opportunities
are available before or after the workshop: fishing, boating, and
sight-seeing.
Here are some of the facilities we have used:
- Buckhorm Mountain Lodge—A
bed and breakfast with peaceful gardens and excellent breakfasts,
located down the road from the Three Rivers Institute office.
- Three Rivers Institute
office—Appropriate for groups of up to 5 wanting a quiet, intense
working environment.
- Morrison’s Rogue River Lodge—A
1920’s-era log lodge located at the head of the wild and scenic portion
of the Rogue River. Morrison’s, a
favorite of Western writer Zane Gray, is quiet, remote (no cell phone
coverage), and boasts an outstanding menu.
- Riverside
Inn—Located on the Rogue River in Grants Pass, the Riverside Inn offers
larger, year-round facilities; broadband; and the conveniences of being
located in a small town.
Participants fly into and out of the Rogue Valley
International Airport (MFR). Driving to the sites above takes 30-40
minutes.
United, Alaska/Horizon, and America West offer direct commuter flights
via Seattle,
Portland,
San Francisco,
Los Angeles,
Denver,
and Phoenix.
